The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will hold its first meeting of the 2023 season on Wednesday March 15 at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Avenue in Cassadaga. The public is invited to attend. The meeting starts at 6:30 PM and the speaker begins at 7. Sharon Howe Sweeting, Town of Cherry Creek Historian, will do a presentation on the George H. Frost family covering the time from his first arrival in the early 1800’s to the present day. Information from a recently found early Frost family history/genealogy sheet will be presented. Copies of the Cherry Creek cemetery book, compiled by Sharon will be discussed along with the process and funding to have the book published. Some books and information will be available as handouts. Tim Nobles, retired Pine Valley History teacher will provide the graphics for the presentation.
